Best Free Thrill Show Begins Friday, June 27th
Something new and exciting is planned in Niagara Falls Clifton Hill district this summer. It’s called, “The Best Free Show Next to the Falls”.
From Friday, June 27th until September 1st visitors will be able to watch at the top of Clifton Hill (Niagara’s Street of Fun) daring death-defying thrill acts high above the Niagara skyline. Between the acts there’ll also be street performers to keep the entire family entertained.
Two of the hair-raising acts are: the Highwire Cycle and the Wheel of Fate.
The Highwire Sky Cycle showcases a motorcyclist riding on a Highwire with a fearless aerialist suspended beneath him.
The Wheel of Fate consists of a massive revolving contraption rotating on top of a 10 storey hotel as a daredevil acrobat walks between two buildings.
This Summer of Thrills occurs five days a week (no shows on Wednesday or Thursday) four times day between 2pm and 8pm.
Tourism operator Vince Ferro tells me the idea for these exciting events came from the late tightrope walker Jay Cochrane. Jay performed death defying acts for many years during the summer between two high rise Niagara Hotels.
