Dissolve By Elizabeth Chitty

Dissolve is an interdisciplinary dance performance that looks at dissolving boundaries in contemporary life. The first boundary to be affected is that between performer and audience, as audience members will influence the unfolding of the work in time and space using their cell phones. Some of the imagery and narrative glimpses in the menu that the audience will choose from include the dissolution of boundaries through neuroscience, the exchange between humans and trees in the air we breathe, migration resulting from shifting geo-political boundaries, and emotional boundaries between people. Dissolve features a cast of three dancers (Emma KersonMary Jo Mullins and Kirsten Sopik) and a cellist performing dance and music as well as text, recorded sound and video. Collaborating artists include Mark Steiger (composer) , Gordon Cleland (cello), Gabe Sawhney (creative Technologist phone system design) and David Vivian (lighting and costume design).

All That’s Missing by Michael Sean Marye

A dance duet that seeks to explore the aspects of relationship which often go unspoken.  Danced by Suzette Sherman and Michael Sean Marye to Mr. Anderson’s Pavane by The Steve Martland Band.

Fuentes by Mary Jo Mullins

Mary Jo is very interested in consciousness, the “mind, body, spirit” connection and how dance may play a role in creating deeper awareness of ourselves and each other, our histories and our futures, ultimately playing a role in creating greater joy, peace and harmony in our world.  For Mary Jo, throughout her lifetime, dance has played a seminal role in her journey back to self, back to home, back to spirit.

“This work is an exploration of the interplay between the lives and personal experiences of three dancers and the multi-dimensional matrix in which they live.  A personal exploration of the inner workings and connections between body, mind, and spirit the dancers cross perceived boundaries between their sense of self, each other and source, ultimately experiencing an emergence of self as a complete, connected and unified whole.” Mary Jo Mullins

Music by Steve Reich and Costume Design by Kim Fiocca

Nightgarden by David Earle and performed by Dancetheate David Earle

“NIGHTGARDEN began in 2009 with soliloquies to the music of Johannes Ciconia.

This expanded to solos , duets, and one group section to medieval music by variety of composers ….

The solos which I call soliloquies are open to the interpretation of each dancer ….. and become to some degree self portraits …

It has never been performed as an entire work, but excerpts have been danced in Guelph, Toronto, Kingston. Quebec City and in Burgundy at La Roche d’Hys ….

It remains a work in progress.

I have 2 journals on the creation of this work.”  David Earle

In the spirit of the theme, crossing boundaries, each performance of this work will vary:  casting and roles will change, as will the excerpts and the order in which they are performed and how many dancers interpret each soliloquy chosen.
