A Breath of Fresh Air
While we all do our part in staying home to stop the spread of COVID-19, it's understandable that we want to enjoy sunny skies, fresh air and a chance to get some exercise. For now, we do that in our yards and neighbourhoods by practicing social and physical distancing. Please remember to wash your hands often.
To help bring some inspiration into your homes and offer tips for gardening and golfing, Niagara Parks has a series of videos for you to enjoy.
1. Spring Orchid Show
The Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse remains closed in response to the ongoing COVID-19 public health situation, so they're bringing you inside for a look at the first Spring Orchid Show. Learn tips on how to care for orchids at home from the talented team of horticulturalists.
2. Spring Planter Inspiration
Spring is in the air and that means it's time to refresh your planters with spring flowers. Get some inspiration from the horticulturists at Niagara Parks as they create a beautiful spring planter that you can replicate at home.
3. Golf Tips
Whether you consider yourself a pro golfter or you're just getting into the game, practice makes perfect and from our experience, a lot of practice is required when it comes to golf.
You may not be able to practice your drive in the backyard, but you can work on your putting routine. Here are some academy tips from the Niagara Parks pro team. You can also learn bunker fundamentals for one of the most misplayed shots in golf.
4. White Water Walk
The White Water Walk is like no other, a boardwalk at the very edge of one of the world's wildest stretches of Class-6 white-water rapids along the Niagara River. Marvel at the relentless power and beauty of nature from home until you can see it for yourself, later.
5. Hiking in the Gorge
Nature lovers should add hiking at Niagara Glen to their bucket list when we can all travel and explore again. Located deep in the Niagara Gorge, stairways lead to 4 kilometres of rugged paths that wind through this pristine pocket of Carolinian Forest, past prehistoric geological formations, wild flora and fauna. The Niagara Glen overlooks the rapid waters of the Niagara River and the natural phenomenon that is the Niagara River Whirlpool.
