One of the bloodiest battles of the War of 1814 took place on Canadian soil on Lundy’s Lane in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The site of the battle is now referred to as Drummond Hill. And most of the 1,800 people who fought on both sides are buried in the nearby Drummond Hill Cemetery.

On Saturday at noon, July 25th the public and members of the Niagara Falls Historical Society attended a ceremony at the cemetery to recognize those who lost their lives in this ferocious battle. This is also where Laura Secord the heroine of the War of 1814 is buried.
