The City of Niagara Falls has allocated $150,000 to the newly formed Canada 150th Committee. The money will be used to promote and carry out events celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary as a nation.

Heading up the committee are two of Niagara Falls greatest promotors, Tina Myers, executive director Ontario Power Generations Winter Festival of Lights and Chris Dabrowski, who organizes the annual Comic Con.

Some things already in the works are plans to decorate the city with 150 banners on light poles, a Canadian art expo and to reach out to local musicians to create a Niagara Falls/Canada theme song.

2017 promises’ to be an exciting year for Niagara Falls and all of Canada.
