As part of the Queenston Village Fair (Queenston is 12 kilometres north of the falls along the Niagara Parkway) there will be a Laura Secord Day on Saturday, June 18th.
This free event takes place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. There will be period activities planned, including demonstrations of the life in the early nineteenth century.
The Friends of Laura Secord are also planning the third annual 32 kilometre Laura Secord Walk from the Laura Secord homestead to Historic Decew House in Thorold. That’s the walk that Laura took in 1813 to warn the British of the planned American invasion of Upper Canada at Queenston.
