A mile away from the Falls is a place not to be missed: Lundy's Lane. The Lundy’s Lane area of Niagara Falls is filled with history, attractions, shopping, lighting displays and plenty of restaurants.
History
The Niagara Falls History Museum is open daily, except Monday, from 9 a.m. Here you’ll discover all of the history of Niagara Falls. Currently, their featured exhibits include, The Road to Freedom and The War of 1812. Stop by any Thursday evening for their '@ the Museum Thursday Nights' series which features free admission and programming.
Up the hill from the NF History Museum is the Battle Ground Hotel Museum - where the longest battle of the War of 1812 took place, on July 25, 1814. For one whole day, British and Americans fought for control of this hill, resulting in the death of 171 Americans and 84 British. Neither side won a decisive victory, but Americn troops retreated to Fort Erie. Both British and American soldiers are buried at the nearby Drummond Hill Cemetery.

Getting Around
Conveniently, the WEGO Transportation System has a direct route down Lundy's Lane - The Red Line - which begins operating at 7 a.m. Adults day passes are $8.00 and children days passes age 6 -12 are $5.00 (kids 5 and under ride free).
