John Lewis Kraft ( J.L. Kraft ), who first patented a method of processing cheese in 1916,was born in 1875 in nearby Stevensville south of Niagara Falls. He died at the age of 79 in February 1953.
He was one of 14 children born to the Krafft (correct spelling) family in this small Niagara hamlet. Family members are buried in the Reformed Mennonite Cemetery in Stevensville.
I could not find the gravestone of his parents Minerva Alice (1848-1933) and George Franklin (1842-1914) but I did locate the tombstone (obviously not the original) who I believe to be his aunt and uncle which accompanies this blog
