I blogged recently about a Day Rainbow now here’s something about a Night Rainbow.

There’s an island that separates the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls on the U.S. side of the border called Luna Island. Luna is Latin for moon. Under certain conditions, you could at one time see at night a “lunar “or “Night Rainbow” from this island. That’s how it got its name.

Years ago, with a local reporter and photographer I traveled to Goat Island when there was a full moon to try and see this night rainbow but met will no success. “Old timers” (which I’m quickly becoming”) told me there’s now too much artificial light in the sky to see this bow.

You can see Luna Island from the Canadian side by travelling to Queen Victoria Park between Clifton Hill and Murray Hill.
