I read in our local Niagara Falls Review that several tourist operators say they are having a very good business year due to the stronger American dollar and the Pan Am Games that are now currently happening in Welland, St. Catharines and Toronto.

Wayne Thomson, a Niagara Falls City Counsellor and Niagara Falls Tourism Chairman is quoted as saying, “Americans are coming back. There is an amazing turnaround happening as we speak”.

David Adames, senior director of business development for The Niagara Parks Commission agrees. He says the low Canadian dollar and an improved U.S. economy has lots to do with the spike in U.S. visitation. Between April and June park attendance was up 7.8 % and revenue up 11.7 % from the same period last year.
