The Niagara Parks Commission has installed a half kilometre safety wall to protect pedestrians from vehicles running into them. The barrier is made of large containers of white plastic that have been filled with water. The barrier has proven to stop vehicles from pedestrians.

The barrier runs parallel to the Niagara Parkway from across the road in front of the Illumination Tower to Table Rock. This new barrier also has created almost double the pedestrian sidewalk making it easier to walk along this section of roadway.

The barrier remains in place until the Canadian Thanksgiving, Monday October 8th.
