One programs will see the enhancement of grasslands on Niagara Parks property in Chippawa to support grassland dependent species of birds.

A second program is to implement coastal wetland restoration projects along the Niagara River. In collaboration with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, the project will restore fish habitat with the hopes of increasing fish populations within the river. Seven sites along the Upper Niagara River have been ear-marked for habitat restoration. Work on both programs begins in March.

A big round of applause to the NPC for implementation of these programs.

The Niagara Parks is a self-financed agency of the Ontario government.
