As one of the original organizers and first Chairman of this annual lighting festival it gives me great pride to see how this Niagara Falls festival has grown since 1982.
This year’s Ontario Power generation Winter Festival of Lights will feature even more lights then ever thanks to The Niagara Parks Commission’s investment of $300.000 on lighting program and infrastructure improvements within Queen Victoria Park. There will also be an expanded eight-kilometre illumination route along the Niagara Parkway as well as the surrounding districts of Clifton Hill, Lundy’s Lane, Victoria Centre, and Fallsview Boulevard.
One other highlight this year is a 10-foot-tall 3D woolly mammoth as part of the Canadian wildlife displays at Dufferin Islands.
This year’s Festival runs from November 19th until January 31, 2017.
