The inaugural Niagara Barrelman Triathlon takes place this upcoming Sunday, September 21st.
Developed by MultiSport Canada, the triathlon consists of a 2 km swim, a 90 km bike ride and a 21.1 km run. There are about 700 participants. The entire course covers the areas of Welland to Niagara Falls.
To facilitate the Niagara Falls portion of the race the folks at The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC) have announced a number of road closures from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
I wish I could take part but I lost my bathing suit, my bike has a flat tire and my running shoes are too old and worn! Maybe another year.
Let’s hope the weather holds for this new event.
