I finally have had time to read Michael Clarkson’s new book, The Age of Daredevils and am I impressed. It’s taken this former award winning newspaper journalist over 20 years to gather information for this sterling book which focuses primarily on Willian Red Hill Sr. and his family and their exploits around the falls from the early 1900’s until the early 1950’s. Just superb research and top notch writing. Clarkson in his narrative makes an excellent case for some type of plaque to be placed around the falls to recognize this amazing father and his four sons. For anyone interested in Niagara history, especially the daredevils, this is a must read.
I’ve written a small book on Niagara Daredevils but my small book doesn’t hold a candle to this excellent book.
