Today I walked about 5 kilometres (3 miles) of the 890 kilometre (550 mile) long Bruce Trail. Hey, it’s a beginning. Some folks might not know this trail begins (or ends) at the western end of Queenston Heights Park 7.5 kilometres (4.6 miles) north of the falls just off the Niagara Parkway. The trail is the oldest and longest marked footpath in Canada running along the Niagara Escarpment between Queenston and Tobermory, Ontario. In addition to the main trail there are 400 kilometres (250 miles) of associated side trails.
If you’re interested in getting a bit of exercise and connecting with nature try this trail out for a few kilometres. Parking is free at the park.
Here’s a photo I took at the beginning of the trail at Queenston.
