What does tourism mean to the city of Niagara Falls? A lot.
Statistics indicate that 14.5 million people visited Niagara Falls in 2017. There were 3.4 million rooms booked and one of Niagara Falls most popular attractions, Hornblower Niagara Cruises had more than 2.3 million riders (Hornblower opened for the season this past weekend.)
One of the reasons for the large number of people visiting Niagara Falls was due to the widely watched American show, Live with Kelly and Ryan which reached millions of people. The show held I our city at the foot of Clifton Hill in Oakes Garden Theatre with the falls in the background featured a lot of the great things there are to do in Niagara Falls.
Our wine tourism and golf tourism also attract a large number of people from all over the world. Our world class Niagara Parks system is second to none.
The tourism industry creates thousands of jobs in the Niagara region.
