Triathlon This Weekend in Niagara Falls
About 700 athletes who are taking part in the Barrelman Triathlon, a 90 kilometre bike ride, two-kilometre swim and a 21.1 kilometre run (I get tired just writing about it!) will do part of their race through Niagara Falls this Sunday, Sept 20th.
As a result, a portion of the upper Niagara Parkway from Upper Rapids Boulevard to the Portage Road intersection at Macklem Street near the Niagara Filtration Plant will be closed from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. The race will end at Kingsbridge Park at 6 p.m.
This is the second year in Niagara Falls for this MultiSport Canada event.
Last year’s race was voted by GetOutThere magazine as the Best Road Triathlon in Eastern Canada.
