Wow, what a difference a week makes. Last week at this time, we were seeing spring bulbs popping through the ground in the park near the falls. This week it’s a different story. Mother Nature has thrown us a curve and we now have as much as 60 centimetres (two feet) of snow, cold winds, and dangerously slippery roads.

However, it’s still much different than it was in the 1800’s. Here’s a photograph taken in 1890 where we see some sightseers at the base of a frozen American Falls. Wild!
