World’s Tallest Flower is Set to Bloom In Niagara Falls
June 16, 2015 by George Bailey
Visitors to the Niagara Showcase at 7145 Niagara Parkway could see the world’s largest flower; Titan Arum could produce a massive bell-shaped flower this Father’s Day and the first day of summer. The flower grows up to three metres. One side effort is the awful smell that comes with the flower.
After flowering, a single leaf emerges in place of the blossom, which is the size of a small tree, standing up to six metres tall and five metres w ide.
This will be the fourth flower to open in the Floral Showcase since 2012.The flower is exceedingly rare to see.
The Floral Showcase is open daily from 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Admission to the attraction is $5.00 for adults and children (ages 6-12) $3.75. Parking is $5.00 per hour.
Here are a few photographs of the plant taken this Tuesday morning.
