Phil Monture (Mohawk, from Six Nations of the Grand River) shares his experiences as the Director of Land Claims Research Office at the Six Nations of the Grand River reserve to provide information and stories about present and past land claims issues. He was the principal architect of the ongoing 1995 litigation against Canada and Ontario for an accounting of all Six Nations Lands, resources, and assets supposedly held and managed on Six Nations’ behalf by the Crown. Mr. Monture will put special focus on the issues surrounding the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations.
