1ST up is Down with Webster a Canadian rap rock band from The Beaches area of Toronto. They have been nominated for 22 awards including 12 MuchMusic Video Awards and 6 Juno Awards
Followed by an East Coast Canadian favorite Alan Doyle and the Beautiful Gypsies.
Alan Doyle is a Canadian musician and actor, best known for his work as one of the lead singers of Canadian folk rock band Great Big Sea and collaboration with Russell Crowe. The Beautiful Gypsies have been on the road with Doyle for a couple of albums now. There's guitar and mandolin player Cory Tetford from Crush, bassist Shehab Illyas from Mir, Kris MacFarlane, the GBS touring drummer, keyboardist Todd Lumley from Hawksley Workman's band and fiddle firecracker Kendel Carson.
Dennis Deyoung is the Nights American Representative. Dennis DeYoung is a singer, songwriter, musician and producer best known for being a founding member of the rock band Styx as lead vocalist and keyboardist. The evening performance will feature the music of STYX.
This years headliner is Canada's own rock artisits Tom Cochrane and Red Rider, best known for hits like: " Life Is A Highway", "Boy Inside The Man", "Lunatic Fringe " . Tom Cochrane was inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame last year, and released his 14th album, Take It Home, in February.
Scheduled Road Closures for
New Year’s Eve Festivities in Queen Victoria Park
Niagara Falls, ON – The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC) and its Niagara Falls New Year's Eve event partners have collaborated on a comprehensive traffic plan to ensure public safety and the enjoyment of visitors during this year’s New Year’s Eve festivities.
Scheduled lane closures will commence on Thursday, December 31*, as follows:
Murray Street – West bound lanes from Queen Victoria Park into the Fallsview tourism district will be closed to vehicles beginning at 3:00 p.m., while east bound lanes into the Park will be closed at Fallsview Boulevard starting at 7:30 p.m.
Niagara Parkway/River Road – The Niagara Parkway from Clifton Hill to Fraser Hill will be closed at 8:00 p.m.
*Road closures are subject to police discretion and may be closed earlier.
Parking and WEGO Public Bus Transportation
There are several parking and public transportation options available for individuals and groups wishing to attend the New Year’s Eve festivities in Queen Victoria Park.
NPC’s Falls Parking Lot – Located directly across from the Table Rock Welcome Centre on the Niagara Parkway, parking will be $18 per vehicle. As well, a variety of other parking options will exists throughout the City’s BIA districts and tourism core.
Falls Incline Railway – NPC’s Falls Incline Railway will be in operations throughout the day and evening of the show, until 1:00 a.m., with round trip tickets costing $5 per person.
The celebration also features a variety of food and beverage options, as well as an outdoor licensed area. As always, the presence of security and policing will be on-site to ensure everyone’s safety throughout the night.
Community partners involved in the New Year’s Eve festivities in Queen Victoria Park include: The Niagara Parks Commission, The City of Niagara Falls, The Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport (Celebrate Ontario), the Tourism Partnership of Niagara, Fallsview Tourist Area, Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort, Victoria Centre Tourist Area, Clifton Hill Tourist Area, Canadian Niagara Hotels, Skylon Tower, Lundy's Lane Tourist Area, and many other stakeholders within the City.
