Niagara Falls Tourism is seeking a dynamic, proactive, and creative Digital Marketing Specialist with a strong strategic and analytic mindset. The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for the development, execution and management of digital marketing campaigns and initiatives that drive visitation to the NFT website. This one-year contract role will focus on designing and executing world class paid search and social media strategies and consumer engagement to increase awareness of the destination.


The Digital Marketing Specialist reports to and is directly responsible to the Director of Marketing & Communications.


  • Required Education
  • Degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing
  • Experience
    • 1+ years experience in the development, execution and management of social media, SEM, PPC, re-targeting and email marketing campaigns
    • Direct experience working in the travel/tourism industry preferred
    • Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
    • Knowledge of digital marketing analytics products and ability to analyze and report data
    • Ability to write creatively, especially within the restrictions of social media platforms, while strictly adhering to brand guidelines for tone and voice
    • Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS
    • Knowledge of CASL and email marketing best practices
    • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
    • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams
    • Comfortable working in fast-paced environment
    • Highly organized, accurate and detail oriented
    • Strong analytical mind: Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
    • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to multi-task, follow through and re-prioritize to meet deadlines on multiple projects
    • Budget planning and control of digital marketing campaigns to ensure business objectives are achieve
  • Working Conditions
    • Requires sitting sometimes for long periods of time
    • Position may require some travel
    • Work will be performed normally within eight to ten hours per day
    • Occasional overtime, early or late meetings, or events beyond the scheduled work hours


Digital Marketing

  • Drive traffic to NFT website through creative and targeted digital initiatives
  • Gather and analyze marketplace context, competitive positioning, and audience data
  • Develop and execute social media strategy for the destination (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest)
  • Collaborate with team to manage social media communities, engaging with audiences including responses to comments and DMs, and acquiring user generated content
  • Develop and execute paid advertising campaigns (social media, SEM, PPC, YouTube); Exceed performance targets through effective account design, optimization, and testing
  • Management of tracking, analysis, and insight reporting for all digital marketing, assessing against goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns, including management and growth of consumer database and campaign reporting
  • Work closely with marketing and communication team to create content calendar that aligns with marketing campaigns and initiatives
  • Partner effectively with Google, Facebook, and other digital partners
  • Continually inspire team with emerging trends and innovations in digital marketing and customer experience
