Niagara River Lions

Niagara River Lions
2 Front Street North

The River Lions proudly represent the Niagara Region in the Canadian Elite Basketball League, playing against Hamilton, Guelph, Edmonton, Saskatchewan and Fraser Valley.  The team gets their name from the mythical creature featured on the Niagara Region's Coat of Arms. It represents pride and strength of community which are two pillars that the Niagara River Lions strive to embody both on and off the court. As the king of the jungle, a lion is powerful, mighty and courageous. Lions are highly territorial and protective which is what the River Lions will do as they defend their den in May 2019.

Since 2015, the River Lions have played at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario. This 5,300 seat venue is their house, their home court advantage.
