It was on this date that the Treaty of Ghent was signed in Belgium officially ending this conflict between Canada and the United States. A procession will take place at 2 p.m. from St. Mark’s Church in Niagara on the Lake to the courthouse. The public is invited to attend the event.

For the past two years several events have been held in Niagara to celebration the bicentennial and 200 years of peace between Canada and the United States.
