Founded in 1995, the Ten Thousand Buddhas Sarira Stupa stands as a spiritual landmark in the heart of Niagara Falls’ tourist district. Designed in traditional Chinese architectural style, the stupa serves as a sacred site of devotion, meditation, and reverence. Inside the stupa, visitors pay homage to 10,000 Buddhas—each a symbol of infinite compassion and wisdom. The monument also honors the Four Great Bodhisattvas—Avalokitesvara, Ksitigarbha, Manjushri, and Samantabhadra—each representing one of China's four sacred mountains. At its highest level, the stupa enshrines a relic (sarira) of Shakyamuni Buddha, embodying the ideals of enlightenment and peace.
This sacred site was made possible through the heartfelt offerings of Dharma protectors and Buddhist devotees, who share a collective vision:
- For the liberation of all beings through the compassionate guidance of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas
- For an end to cruelty and war across the world
- For the realization of global peace, harmony, and lasting contentment
