Bouldering in Niagara Falls

I read with interest an article in the Saturday, Nov.11th edition of the Globe and Mail about how popular bouldering has become in the Niagara Parks Glen Nature Reserve. The reserve is 6.7 kilometres north of the falls off the Niagara Parkway.

Bouldering is the sport of climbing large rocks or boulders without a rope. You need a lot of body strength for this one.

According to the article this is the best place in southern Ontario to practise this type of rock climbing. Avid climbers practise this port year-round.

However, you do need a permit from the Niagara Parks to do this type of climbing. So there, here’s another thing you can do year-round in Niagara Falls.
