Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours has been Niagara’s premier adventure tour on the Niagara River for over 35 years! On this epic tour, you will view awe-inspiring scenery, experience the history of the Niagara Gorge, Niagara Falls & the War of 1812 and feel the rush of the Class 5 white water rapids.

The fully guided tour starts on the lower Niagara River into the Niagara Gorge in a Wet Jet (wet trip) or Freedom Jet (wet or dry trip) - at 55mp/hour. We then take you up to the famous Niagara Whirlpool and through the Class 5 ‘Devil’s Hole’ rapids. Over the past 12,000 years, the turbulent currents from Niagara Falls have carved out an 11 km gorge, and this is the water playground for our fleet of eight boats that are ready to take you on an experience of a lifetime. Our highly trained staff operate our boats with triple turbo diesel water jet systems, a design that is incredibly reliable and safe, but also delivers a fun and exhilarating ride!

Great for all ages 6+ (min. 44") for the Wet Jet or 4+ (min. 40") for the DRY Freedom Jet. Tours are 45 minutes on the water. Guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Splash gear is provided. Our season operates from May to October.

How long is the tour?

Wet and dry tours are 45 minutes (round trip). The tours all follow the same route and spend the same amount of time in the rapids!

Where does the boat go?

From either departure point, we travel upriver (south) and into the Niagara Gorge. Once in the gorge, 175 ft walls rise above the waterline. The boat makes its way into the famous Niagara Whirlpool, and then we head back on down (north) through the Class V Devil’s Hole Rapids. You return to the same location as your boarding location.

Do you see Niagara Falls on this tour?

No, we do not see Niagara Falls on any of our tours. Our tours travel upriver into the Niagara Gorge, through the Class V Rapids at Devil’s Hole and up to the Niagara Whirlpool. The Whirlpool and Niagara Falls are separated by a stretch of Class VI rapids that are unnavigable (and illegal) to pass through.

Are there any age or height restrictions?

There are age and height restrictions:

For the Wet Jet trip you must be at least 44 inches tall (avg. 6 yr old).
For the DRY Freedom Jet trip you must be at least 40 inches tall (avg. 4 yr old)

For the WET Freedom Jet trip you must be at least 13 years old and 100 lbs.
Guests under the age of 12 and/or under 100 lbs are not permitted to sit in the first 3-4 rows of our vessels. (All seating is determined by the Captain and Crew of the vessel)
Guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Guests under the age of 18 need a parent or guardian present to sign participation waivers.

What's the difference between the Wet Jet and Wet Freedom Jet tours?

All of our tours follow the same route – a 45-minute round-trip adventure into the Niagara Gorge and through the Class V Rapids at Devil’s Hole. Our Wet Jet vessels are open-topped, and every single seat will get completely soaked! Our Freedom Jet vessel is mostly enclosed (dry Freedom Jet seats) but has 2 rows of outside wet seating at the very front. These are considered ‘power rows’, so guests must be a minimum of 13 years old and 100 lbs without any history of heart, neck or back issues. We only sell Adult tickets for the Freedom Jet WET seats.
