Niagara City Cruises Incline Railway to Open
Workers continue to build a new posh 1.5 million funicular railway that will bring two 56 passenger cars from the foot of Clifton Hill to the Niagara City Cruises catamaran boat dock below.
There has been a funicular railway at this location since1894.
From 1976 the Maid of the Mist Boat company operated an incline until 1990 when it was replaced by a set of four elevators.
This new Niagara City Cruises Incline Railway will mean significantly reduced wait times resulting in an increased number of daily cruises.
Boat trips are offered every 15 minutes seven days a week. Two state-of-the art catamarans will begin their 2018 season on March 28th.
