To celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary of the founding of Canada as well as The Niagara Parks Commission the Chair of the commission, Janice Thomson told recently at a media conference consisting of a large group of Niagara Parks employees as well as members of the media about several commemorative initiatives and events with themes varying from nature and gardens to heritage and culinary offerings to take place this year.

One such event was the planting last fall of 30,000 red and white tulips in Queen Victoria Park near the falls. The bulbs were a gift of Vesey’s Bulbs of Prince Edward Island.
