9.6 kilometres north from the falls along the Niagara Parkway is the Niagara Parks Centennial Lilac Garden. It’s located right beside the world famous Floral Clock. When I was driving the parkway today I could smell the aroma from Lilac Garden before I even saw it.

This garden found on ten acres contains over 1,200 bushes with over 200 different varieties. These bushes will bloom for the next three weeks or so. You can expect to see a whole range of colours and gorgeous fragrances.

Created in 1967 to commemorate Canada’s Centennial Year, the American Rotary Clubs of District 709 contributed funds towards the development of this unique garden.

This is also a nice spot to have a picnic with plenty of free parking and lots of picnic tables found around the perimeter of the garden.
